2. Open-source license​

The source code of this project is released under the MIT License, which allows:

  • Commercial use
  • Modification and redistribution
  • Private use

And requires:

  • Preserving the copyright notice and full license text in distributed copies.
  • The author is not liable for any damages caused by use of the project.

The full license text is in the LICENSE file at the root of the repository.

3. Live2D Cubism Core and Cubism SDK​

The V2 (Cubism 4+) pipeline depends on Cubism Core and Cubism Web Framework, published by Live2D Inc.:

  • The author has signed a commercial use agreement with Live2D Inc. and distributes the official Cubism Core under that agreement.
  • The copyright / license of Cubism Core and Cubism Web Framework belongs to Live2D Inc., and use is subject to the Live2D Proprietary Software License and the Live2D Open Software License.
  • When redistributing this project, do not strip Cubism Core's attribution, and do not commercially redistribute Cubism Core without authorization.

The project itself does not distribute any copyrighted ready-made Live2D models, but it does allow users to load third-party models. Please note:

  1. V1 models (*.moc, journey-ad / Cubism 2~3 series): many early models have been circulating for years; the plugin only provides compatibility loading and does not represent the author owning those models. Please respect the original authors' attribution, and contact them for commercial-use licensing.
  2. V2 models (*.model3.json, Cubism 4+): most are commercial models; please buy the use license through legitimate channels such as nizima. It is strictly forbidden to distribute or resell other people's MOC3 models without authorization.
  3. The workshop currently does not allow uploads — until version 2.0 reaches a hotlink-protected state, we cannot protect uploaders' copyright.
  4. Recommendation: keep models you've purchased on object storage with anti-hotlink + cross-origin restrictions, or enable Host on this site in the plugin settings.

6. Trademarks​

  • "Live2D" and "Cubism" are registered trademarks of Live2D Inc.
  • This project's "Live2D Web Canvas" name appears in the official Live2D Showcase as an extensibility application.

7. Disclaimer​

  • This project is provided "AS IS" without any express or implied warranty.
  • Neither the author nor the publishing entity is liable for any direct or indirect damages caused by use of this project.
  • The risks of using third-party services such as models, the ChatGPT endpoint, or object storage are borne by the user.
